Class Descriptions

Class Description
Intro to Yoga
Jump feet first into foundations and by the end of the 3 months you will have worked your way to the top of your head!! There is focus on understanding basic anatomy (from your toes to your nose) and then taking this knowledge into the poses.
Basics 1

This is a foundations class with standing and support poses. This class is a great intro to yoga for beginners as well as a great reminder to practicing students of the importance of proper alignment and basics.

Saturday’s class is a rotation of teachers, giving you a taste of each of their styles.

Basics 2
This class builds on the knowledge you already have acquired from attending Intro to Yoga, Basics 1 and Gentle. You are going to prepare for more advanced poses and more subtle supported poses taking you deeper into the practice. How deep will YOU go?
The Mat and Beyond – Beginner
Have you ever wondered if there is more to yoga than down-dogs? This beginner class examines how we can take the ethical principles of yoga into our poses and beyond the mat.
Family Yoga Beginner
Build an aligned, strong, flexible family….or just come out for the fun of it!! Children are natural yogis, they bring us into the present moment and their presence is a gift. This is a beginner class for adults and children 8 years to 17 years old. The children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. If you are a full member (3 month membership) the child can come for free, any other form of membership or drop in the child pays $5.00. Any additional child is $5.00.
Multi-Level
This instructive class builds from one week to the other, with the teacher adjusting poses to the different levels of each student in the class. This class is for students with some understanding of alignment.
Intermediate
Are you ready to go head first……into head stands, arm balance, and elbow balance? Going into inversions changes your perspective, looking at the world from upside down and inside out. In this class you will also see the world from the view of backbends. Why don’t you “bend over backwards”; for your own good!!

This is a practice for students who have more experience, have developed alignment, strength and flexibility.

Sunset Salutations
This is an excellent way to let go of the stresses of the day, with a workout from head to toe and from the inside out! A basic understanding of alignment is important in this practice.
Vinyasana

This class features a gentle flow from pose to pose. A basic understanding of alignment is important in this practice. This class does not focus on adjustments, as much as it does moving from one pose to the other.

Gentle
This class increases inner focus by watching the breath and working on postures that support the breath. This is suitable for students at all levels, but particularly good for people who have health concerns, such as arthritis and other joint and muscle pain.
Mom and Baby [Special Class]

A class designed for mom head to toe, a beginner class that assists with relieving back pain, shoulder tension and rebalancing the mind, body and spirit. Baby adds their essence to the yoga by participating or not! Practice yoga with other mom’s in an accepting and supportive environment. Let yoga support and enrich your mothering experience.

The 3 Rs Relax, Restore and Renew [Special Class]

This quiet, meditative class uses props to focus on opening rather than strenuous stretching. This is a great way to let go of the day.

Sunrise Salutation [Special Class]

A great way to awaken the mind, body and spirit to greet the day with a workout from head to toe and inside out! A basic understanding of alignment is important in this practice.
